The Big Nosh is back! Temple of Israel's fundraiser brings all your favorite delicacies all the way from New York to you: pastrami, corned beef, homemade knishes, Gus' pickles, Green's babka and rugelah, homemade kugel, and more. Orders must be placed by November 2. Pickup is November 16, 11am - 4pm at the Reibman Center, 922 Market St. (corner of 10th and Market). Drive. to the back of the building for pickup. Join Dr. Anna Blue Catlett, PT, DPT, for this free, one-hour workshop designed to help athletes, coaches, and parents learn evidence-based strategies to reduce ACL injury risk and improve performance. The session will include education, hands-on warm-up drills, and practical prevention techniques that can be applied right away.

Join Wilmington Water Tours as we cruise up the Northeast Cape Fear River to the upper reaches of the black water system of this storied river. Captain Doug Springer will share his extensive knowledge of the history of the area while you take in the flora and fauna along the river banks. We will cruise through the Castle Hayne Aquifer and by the bluffs of the Rose Hill Plantation. Visit our bar for a freshly brewed cup of coffee or the best Bloody Mary on the river. Fat Cat Pottery is thrilled to announce its upcoming Pottery Festival, taking place on October 4th, 2025, at the picturesque Trask Family Farm. This one-day event promises to be an unforgettable celebration of all things pottery, bringing together local and regional potters, artists and enthusiasts for a fun-filled day of demonstrations, workshops and shopping.
The Pottery Festival will kick off at 10:00am and run until 4:00pm, offering attendees a unique opportunity to connect with the makers and creators behind the beautiful handmade pottery on display. Visitors can expect to find an array of functional and decorative pieces, including sculptures and jewelry, all crafted with love and care by local potters.
Highlights of the festival include:
• Live pottery demonstrations by talented artists
• Hands-on experiences
• A marketplace featuring over 40 potters and artisans selling their wares
• Food and drink vendors
• Live music and entertainment throughout the day (Sail Away Ladies String Band 1:00-3:00)
Admission to the Pottery Festival is free, with a suggested donation of $5 per person to support the event. All proceeds will benefit the local arts community including Dreams of Wilmington.
Trask Family Farm is located at 3650 Blue Clay Road, Castle Hayne NC and about 2 miles from Fat Cat Pottery’s Wilmington studio.

International Observe the Moon NightSaturday, October 4 from 6 to 8 pmFREE EVENTRain or Shine! International Observe the Moon Night is a worldwide celebration of lunar science and exploration and occurs in early fall when the Moon is around first quarter. Join us for hands-on activities, telescope and binocular Moon observation, themed story time and more!
Event activities will take place inside the museum and outdoors in the Museum Park.
Activities for the evening include:• Enjoy interactive stories at our Stellar Story Corner.• View the Moon through telescopes and binoculars and get stargazing tips from members of Cape Fear Astronomical Society. • Color your own space helmet and pose for pictures with your “astronaut crew”.• Build a Moon Phaser to see the order of the Moon’s phases. • Learn to measure angular distance with your hand and find your way around the night sky. • Join the fictional Lunar Travel Bureau and create an advertisement to encourage vacationing on Mars.• Unleash your inner graffiti artist as you tag the Museum Park with Moon-inspired chalk art. • Purchase tasty snacks and beverages from KONA Ice and Brighter Days Coffee.

Historic Downtown Wilmington Marketplace is a city sponsored artisan outdoor market, in our 9th year. Every Sunday from April through October, local artists set up and display their creations on Front Street between Market and Dock streets, from 10-3pm. You can find jewelry, glass, fiber, clay, paintings and wall hangings.
