Full bar with beer, wine and cocktails are available via the Azalea Station in the Cargo District.

Held weekly on Dock Street (between Front and 2nd Streets), just steps from the downtown Riverwalk, this open-air market brings together a thoughtfully curated collection of local artists, makers, and small businesses in the heart of Wilmington.

Each Sunday from 10 AM to 3 PM, visitors can stroll through a vibrant street market filled with handcrafted goods, original artwork, and unique artisan pieces. From fine art and pottery to woodwork, jewelry, textiles, and mixed media, the market showcases a diverse range of creative expressions. Every booth offers something one-of-a-kind, making it the perfect place to discover meaningful pieces you won’t find anywhere else.

The Sunday Artisan Market is ideal for tourists exploring Wilmington, locals seeking a relaxing and inspiring weekend outing, and anyone who values handmade, high-quality goods. Its central location makes it easy to pair with brunch, shopping, or a day along the waterfront. Guests can enjoy the energy of downtown, take a walk along the nearby Riverwalk, and connect directly with artists—learning about their craft and the stories behind their work.

Admission is free and open to the public. Come experience the creativity, meet the makers, and be part of Wilmington’s growing arts scene.

Burgwin-Wright House welcomes the Cape Fear Camera Club on August 28 for their annual exhibit “Images of Distinction” featuring photographers that represent the top 5% of images that have been submitted to both internal club competitions and international competitions with other photography clubs from around the world. They serve as a reminder of the diversity of subjects and styles that exist within the photographic art form as well as the talent of our local members.

The show will be on exhibit until September 19 in the art gallery located in our visitor center.

Show Opening Reception on Friday, August 28 from 6-9pm.

Admission is free; the gallery is open Monday-Saturday between 10am-4pm.

About the Cape Fear Camera Club
Since its inception, the Cape Fear Camera Club (CFCC) has grown to over 160 members and continues to act as a vital educational and creative resource for photographers of all skill levels in the Wilmington area. Through workshops, lectures, exhibitions, social events, field trips, mentoring programs, professionally judged club competitions, as well as national and international competitions through the Photographic Society of America (PSA), CFCC members continue to learn about the field of photography and connect with others who share their passion. The organization also believes in reaching out to the community and each year awards a $500 scholarship to a college student pursuing the study of photography. Additionally, CFCC members offer their services as volunteer photographers for events such as the annual Coastal NC Walk/Run for Autism, the Cape Fear Museum of History and Science's educational programming, and the Federal Point Historic Preservation Society's photo-documentation of the Federal Point region of North Carolina. Based on the DreamWorks Animation hit, How to Train Your Dragon JR. brings fire-breathing action, epic adventure and big laughs to the stage.
Hiccup is a young Viking who defies tradition and befriends one of his deadliest foes – a ferocious dragon he calls Toothless. Together, the unlikely heroes fight against the odds to save both their worlds in this wonderful theatrical adaptation.
How to Train Your Dragon JR. was created through the DreamWorks Theatricals Emerging Writers Program, a collaboration between DreamWorks Theatricals, Music Theatre International, and NBC Universal.

The UNC Wilmington Film Studies Department presents a free screening of Elaine May’s seventies masterpiece, "Mikey and Nicky" (1976), starring Peter Falk and John Cassavetes.

Film Studies professor Todd Berliner will introduce the film. He is the author of "Hollywood Renegade: Elaine May, Mikey and Nicky, and the Making of a Masterpiece" (University of Texas Press, 2026). After the screening, the department will host a presentation, discussion, and book signing, along with a reception.

Small-time mobster Nicky (John Cassavetes) holes up in a fleabag motel after the bosses hire a hitman to kill him. Terrified, with nowhere to run, he calls on his oldest friend, Mikey (Peter Falk), the one person he thinks can save him. Inspired by events from filmmaker Elaine May’s own childhood and anchored by electrifying performances from Cassavetes and Falk, "Mikey and Nicky" paints a harrowing portrait of male friendship.

The department will screen the newly restored 4K digital transfer of "Mikey and Nicky" in King Hall’s 4K theater. The event is free and open to the public.
