From the artists
Barbara Bear JamisonBarbara is a 4th generation Wilmingtonian and her award-winning works reflect her love of the coastal region where she’s lived and traveled. The scenes include people, boats and nature saturated with the beautiful light and color of the areas she paints. You can find her work at City Art Gallery, Greenville, NC; Verrazano Gallery, Wilmington, NC; at her studio in ArtWorks, 200 Willard St, Wilmington, NC and on her website at www.barbarabearjamison.com.
Cathy PoulosMy art is inspired by the world around me, painting nature and wildlife, as well as people living their daily lives or celebrating special events. Many of my paintings have a coastal theme – on the water or beach, where I spend much of my time. I enjoy moving between oil, acrylic and watercolor to experience a variety of textures and colors in my paintings. You can see my art in local galleries and art shows or on my website. I do a steady stream of commissions as well.
Life is too short to not appreciate the beauty around us and art is my language to express my vision of what intrigues me! It gives me great pleasure to bring joy to others through my art.
You can visit www.cathypoulosart.com or follow Cathy on Facebook & Instagram: @cathypoulosart to see more of her stunning artworks!

Join us on June 20th at 9am for a Mindfulness Meditation session instructed by Certified Mindfulness Meditation Teacher, Bonne Lynn Anderson.
Simply put, mindfulness is bringing our attention into the present moment, and allowing whatever arises to be met without bias or criticism.
We know that with regular practice, mindfulness meditation creates a spacious awareness around our thoughts and feelings – encouraging clarity and the ability to respond rather than react. Current scientific research adds the additional benefits of balance, strength, focus and resilience. While mindfulness finds its’ roots in Buddhism, mindfulness meditation is secular – making it accessible to all. The galleries can be cool, so bring a garment for comfort.
Come join us in a contemplative space to learn a simple practice taught by a Certified Mindfulness Meditation Teacher, Bonne Lynn Anderson
Bonne is a Certified Mindfulness Meditation Teacher through Dharma Moon and Tibet House. Her curiosity and interest in spiritual practice is a lifelong journey. Exploring a variety of methods and teachings, she has found mindfulness meditation to be an effective and accessible practice both on and off the cushion. Sharing a simple process that leads to profound benefits, her teachings are friendly and welcoming to all.
Set in South Carolina in 1964, this is the tale of Lily Owens, a 14-year-old girl who is haunted by the memory of her late mother. To escape her lonely life and troubled relationship with her father, Lily flees with Rosaleen, her caregiver and only friend, to a South Carolina town that holds the secret to her mother's past.
