A Little Lunch Music

Join us in the MC Erny Gallery first Fridays at Noon for A Little Lunch Music. Concerts are free and open to the public. We provide some tea and treats.

NOTE: Due to concerns related to the coronavirus, April's edition of A Little Lunch Music has been postponed until further notice.

On Friday, May 4, Vocalist Nicole Thompson will be our guest for "A Little Lunch Music," joined by Pianist Sylvia Ritchie and Bassist Barry Langston. Selections include music by Mozart, Handel, Bernstein, Lerner & Loewe, and Arlen.

Join us on Friday, November 3 at Noon at WHQR for a casual lunchtime mini-concert. Our special guest this month is pianist Myron Harmon. He'll play Sonata #2 by Chopin and L'isle Joyeuse by Debussy. He'll tell us about his life as a musician and answer audience questions. What better way to spend your lunch? Speaking of lunch, feel free to bring yours. We'll have some sweets and tea as well. 

Concertmaster Beverly Andrews brings a string quartet from the Wilmington Symphony Orchestra's Youth Orchestra. This intimate and casual concert features music and discussion with the performers. Friday, October 6 at Noon in WHQR's MC Erny Gallery. Bring your lunch if you like; we'll have refreshments!

Join us at Noon on Friday, July 7 at WHQR. Our special guests this month are singers/musicians from Opera Wilmington. We're not sure exactly what we'll hear, but we know we'll get a sneak peek from the group's upcoming production of Carmen-and we know it will be the best way to spend your lunch. Thanks to all who joined us Friday, June 9th for "A Little Lunch Music" to enjoy the sounds of musicians, Luigi Mazzoccho (Violin), Kyle Engler (Mezzo Soprano), and Daniel Lau (Piano) from the Port City Music Festival. Check out the photos from the event HERE on our Facebook page. 

In March, we celebrated Bach's birthday with our "Bach Lunch." What fun we had, and what a treat to have classical lovers and the classical-curious visit at lunchtime to hear a mini-concert. We've decided to continue the practice-so join us at Noon on Friday, June 9th at WHQR. Three guest musicians from the Port City Music Festival will perform for us: Luigi Mazzocchi (Violin), Kyle Engler (Mezzo Soprano), and Daniel Lau (Piano).
