Three Wilmington congregations are joining together to host an extraordinary weekend of sacred storytelling with international performers Davide Bardi and Paola Balbi. Through dramatic retellings, conversation, and reflection, we’ll explore how story shapes faith and community.
“David and Bathsheba” A passionate, visceral retelling of the biblical story of desire, betrayal, loss, and redemption. Drawing on medieval Italian “Sacra Rappresentazione,” the performance blends research with improvised, embodied storytelling.The audience is drawn into the intimate, turbulent world of David and Bathsheba as if witnessing events firsthand. Frank Bongiorno directs UNCW Jazz Ensemble, made up of music majors and minors and students from across the university. UNCW Jazz Ensemble performs a variety of jazz music from swing to mainstream jazz and has established a tradition of musical excellence in jazz. Program includes: Thelonious Monk: Blue Monk; Oliver Nelson: Stolen Moments; Rogers & Hart: Have You Met Miss Jones?; Curtis Fuller: Ala Mode; Count Basie / and Frank Foster: Blues in Hoss’ Flat.
