Known for her bold autobiographical paintings, McIver invites viewers into her personal story, touching on themes of family and African-American identity. Specifically, McIver will delve into the vibrant and emotive portraits that have become signature subjects in her work. Fresh, innovative and spontaneous, in her approach, McIver creates series of works in a manner that she has described as “painfully honest.”
