Cape Fear Fencing Association 8 week beginning homeschool fencing class starts March 11th at 1:30 pm in the basement of the Tileston gym, 5th and Ann Streets. Class will meet for approximately 1 hour on Wednesdays. Students should wear loose fitting clothing and sneakers. The club provides all necessary fencing gear. Appropriate for ages 8 and up. Cost is $40 plus a $34 membership to USA Fencing (purchased on usafencing.org) good until July 31, 2026. Taught by Internationally accredited instructor. Cape Fear Fencers are the current defending State Homeschool Team Champions under the auspices of the Southeastern Cardinals organization.

Join the knowledgeable guides from Cape Fear Bird Observatory and their partners for a family friendly fun nature walk! Meeting at the Greenfield Lake boathouse (near the tennis courts) for an informational session on the third Saturday of every month, usually beginning at 9:00 AM followed by a narrated 60 minute stroll around the lake looking at interesting birds, plants, mammals, reptiles, and other fascinating wild things. All are welcome! No registration required. Please bring sunscreen, insect repellent, water and comfortable walking shoes.
Shop local and enjoy the beautiful gardens at the Burgwin-Wright House during the annual Spring Craft Market on March 21!
Come browse more than 30 local crafters and artisans in the gardens for all your spring needs. Admission is FREE to the market. Vendors will be scattered throughout our acre of gardens and the visitors center.
The historic house, jail, visitor center, and art gallery will remain open for regular operational hours of 10am-4pm
