Mark your calendars for 𝐓𝐡𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝟐𝟔𝐭𝐡 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝟓-𝟖 𝐩𝐦 as we open our next installation, “𝐄𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠” 𝐛𝐲 𝐖𝐢𝐥𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐨𝐧 𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞, 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞 𝐒𝐢𝐦𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐬.

Working primarily in watercolor, Valerie is known for her “loose, expressive botanicals that beautifully capture both the delicacy and vitality of the natural world.” Her connection to flowers began in childhood while wondering barefoot through the local garden center her family owned for more than thirty years—an experience that shaped a lifelong relationship with plants, seasons, and the quiet poetry of gardens.

After years working as a florist and flower grower, Valerie now paints while raising her two young sons, creating work that reflects freedom, movement, and growth—echoing both nature and the seasons of life. In addition to her botanical work, she also creates thoughtful home portrait commissions.

Come celebrate the opening with us, meet the artist, and spend an evening surrounded by lovely art, tasty food, and live music.

Celebrating 150 Years of Jewish life in Wilmington, this is a special three-part journey through the history of the Temple of Israel. Together we'll reflect on our past, learn from expert historians and rabbis, and share in meaningful conversations that connect us across generations.

Show off your smarty pants at Ponysaurus Brewing Co.’s weekly Trivia Night every Monday at 7pm! Test your knowledge of the useless information you learned watching Jeopardy, binge-watching Netflix, and studying for high school geography. Grab a pint, some pizza, and put your noggin’ to good use at Ponysaurus Brewing Co.’s downtown Wilmington pizzeria & beer garden!

Be sure to get here early to snag a table, set up your phones to enter answers virtually, and get your team revved for some drinking and thinking with our hosts, Geeks Who Drink! At the end of the night, Ponysaurus Brewing Co. will award prizes in the shape of beer to first and second place, as well as the team with the least amount of points and the team with the best team name!

Cape Fear Fencing Association 8 week beginning homeschool fencing class starts March 11th at 1:30 pm in the basement of the Tileston gym, 5th and Ann Streets. Class will meet for approximately 1 hour on Wednesdays. Students should wear loose fitting clothing and sneakers. The club provides all necessary fencing gear. Appropriate for ages 8 and up. Cost is $40 plus a $34 membership to USA Fencing (purchased on usafencing.org) good until July 31, 2026. Taught by Internationally accredited instructor. Cape Fear Fencers are the current defending State Homeschool Team Champions under the auspices of the Southeastern Cardinals organization.
