How do you describe a life shared by two artists, a photographer/author and a painter/poet?
Start with their mutual love of nature, and an intense connection with the Spirit.

Mirkil is a storyteller whose work draws from many sources: autobiography; the rhythms and
mysteries of an internal music; and the history of art. Peterson’s work is rooted in a deeply felt
symbolism of light, as well as from classical and sacred music.

Peterson’s battle with Parkinson’s Disease began in 2006. He continued as Chief Curator at the
Michener Art Museum for five more years before retiring. The disease has slowed Peterson’s
output but he continues to create. His first retrospective, at theArtWorks, took place in 2019 and
included one hundred seventy-five images from fifteen bodies of work, as well as samples of his
creative videos. At that time he was still printing pictures. His most recent works are
improvisational drawings.
Mirkil and Peterson are honoring the gift of creativity in the face of considerable challenges. And
they are buoyed by their shared love of the Divine.

In early November, we will be joined by Debra Bucci, Brian Evans & Dianne Evans!! Their newest works will be fresh out of the studio and will be featured in their show “Transformation: From Seed to Bloom“. Painter, Debra Bucci will once again join forces with ceramicists, Brian Evans & Dianne Evans to embrace the power of color, texture, and movement in every dimension. Between Debra’s dynamic color patterns and details, Brian’s sculpted forms and weathered textures, and Dianne’s paper-resist patterns and striking surfaces, these artists fuse natural inspirations with their distinct media and techniques to evoke energy, joy, and beauty.
The gallery will also begin celebrating the holiday season with its Annual Holiday Show, featuring new works in all media by all of our gallery artists. Additionally, join us for the POP UP Exhibit – The Art of Dr. Seuss: Cats, Cats, Cats! This pop up will be on view from November 6th-15th and is in honor of the The Cat in the Hat Movie Release the same weekend!

For one day each year, we open the doors to our home and transform it into a gallery for our Annual Open House Art Show, a celebration of art, community, and another incredible year of shows.
Now in its 4th year, the Open House is our opportunity to bring together friends, collectors, artists, and supporters, share Bradley’s latest work, and simply say thank you to everyone who continues to support what we do.
Throughout the house, guests will discover Bradley Carter’s original paintings, acrylic paint-skin journals, his popular holiday series, and his award-winning novel, The Canvas We Share.
More than an art show, the Open House is a relaxed, personal way to celebrate creativity and the community that makes our year possible. The event will be catered by the wonderful Laura Carter, with food and refreshments to enjoy throughout the day, and may even feature a few special guests stopping by along the way.
We are proud to partner with the Arts Council of Wilmington & New Hanover County for this year’s Open House and look forward to welcoming everyone into our home for this special one-day event.

The CAMmade Holiday Market is back—and it’s bigger and brighter than ever! Join us Saturday and Sunday at CAM for a festive weekend of shopping, art, and holiday cheer.

Shop over 40 talented local and regional artists, including makers from the CAM Museum School and Museum Shop. Discover unique, handmade gifts - from jewelry and ceramics to prints, textiles, and more. You’ll also find special CAM items for sale, including books, prints, and select ceramics - and a few surprise additions from featured artists.

Your $5 admission grants access for both days, with more than 20 different artists featured each day, so come twice to see it all! Pre-register to receive a free “We Belong Here” tote bag (while supplies last) and enter to win CAM prizes, including our signature t-shirt or a museum membership.

The Museum Shop will be decked out for the holidays, complete with classic holiday music and festive drink specials in CAM Café, open from 10 AM–2 PM daily.
