The Juneteenth Committee of Wilmington will host an afternoon of celebration with spoken word, music, a fashion show, and dance! We welcome the words of poets Mama Makeda, ScaleHamHawk da Poet, and Yolanda Hernandez. Hear music from Soltree Reign and take part in community conversations from local organizations. Sample local flavors from food trucks, and come dressed in African inspired attire. Juneteenth recognizes African American freedom and emphasizes education and achievement. It's a time for communities to come together for reflection and rejoicing.
