Adolphus Hailstork’s I Will Lift Up Mine Eyes brings a distinct voice shaped by the richness of the African American musical tradition. Meanwhile, works by Margaret Bonds, Morten Lauridsen, and Karen Siegel reveal strikingly different perspectives on the American choral experience.
