Showcasing some of the world's best and beloved lager breweries with clean, quaffable lagers, pilsners, dunkels, ambers, and more.

Historically, Lagers are a much younger style of beer than ales. Thought to be discovered by accident in the 1500s, when it was found that storing brews made with cold-resistant yeast for a month produced a crisper, lighter beer; Lagers are the most popular beer style in the world.

The primary definition of a Lager is that it is a bottom-fermenting beer, meaning that the yeasts used to ferment the beer flocculate (gather) at the bottom of the fermentation tank.

Generally, the characteristics of a lager include a light, crisp taste that is vibrant, smooth and easy drinking. These beers tend to have more carbonation than ales and are typically less bitter. However, these flavor profiles can greatly differ depending on the type of Lager and the brewing techniques.
