Paula Poundstone is the first female to win a Cable ACE Award. She’s also picked up an American Comedy Award for best Female Standup Comic.
In 2019, she might be best known as a frequent panelist on Wait, Wait Don’t Tell Me. About two years ago, she told me that most of her work on that show is unscripted. But despite her uncanny ability to make air funny by breathing it, as Wait Wait Host Peter Sagal has said, she writes. She’s written for the Los Angeles Times, Glamour, had a regular column in Mother Jones, and she’s the author of two books: There’s Nothing In This Book That I Meant To Say – and more recently, The Totally Unscientific Study Of The Search For Human Happiness. Her podcast, Nobody Listens To Paula Poundstone, drops weekly with co-host and fellow comedian Adam Felber.
She comes to Wilmington Saturday, June 22nd for a 7:30 performance at the Wilson Center at Cape Fear Community College.
She joins us on this edition via Skype from NPR West in Los Angeles.
