CAPE FEAR MEMORIAL BRIDGE CLOSURE: UPDATES, RESOURCES, AND CONTEXT

CoastLine: NAACP In NHC Marks 100 Years With Green Book Presentation

New Hanover County’s NAACP celebrates its 100th anniversay this year.  Founded nationally in 1909, the local chapter of the National Association For The Advancement of Colored People launched ten years later.

The civil rights group articulates its mission this way:  "...to ensure the political, educational, social, and economic equality of rights of all persons and to eliminate race-based discrimination."

So, where do equal rights stand now and what's on the agenda for the centennial?

Guests:

Deborah Dicks Maxwell, President, New Hanover County Chapter, NAACP

Jessica Franks, President, Wilmington NAACP Youth Council; Chair, Juvenile Justice, North Carolina NAACP Youth & College Division
