CAPE FEAR MEMORIAL BRIDGE CLOSURE: UPDATES, RESOURCES, AND CONTEXT

From the StoryCorps Archives: Katherine Weller to her Twins on their Remarkable Grandmother

Margaret Weller-Stargell, Katherine Weller, Frances Weller

It was four years ago when twin sisters Frances Weller and Margaret Weller-Stargell came to WHQR to record a conversation while the national StoryCorps project was in Wilmington.  In this excerpt, recorded in April of 2011, they listen as their mother, Katherine, describes their grandmother who passed away just days after they were born.

Today, the twins will put to rest their mother, Katherine, who passed away one week ago after several battles with breast cancer.

Services are being held Monday, February 16th at 2 PM at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Wilmington.

This segment was produced by Michelle Bliss with interviews recorded at StoryCorps, a national nonprofit whose mission is to provide Americans of all backgrounds and beliefs with the opportunity to record, share, and preserve the stories of our lives.
