The Willie Stargell 5K presented by nCino, will take place on April 18, 2026. The event will also feature a 1‑Mile Walk and will be held at Mayfaire Town Center, beginning at 8:30 AM. All registrants will receive a ticket to a deluxe brunch buffet at Coquina Fishbar in Mayfaire Town Center immediately following the race. New this year, every participant will also receive an official race T‑shirt. In addition, all finishers will be awarded a finisher medal, and division winners will be recognized with awards.

The Willie Stargell 5K Presented by nCino is the second largest fundraiser of the Willie Stargell Foundation, which provides funding to support the Foundation’s mission. Established in 2002, the Willie Stargell Foundation works to secure funding to assist those living with kidney disease. Proceeds are used to support the Willie “Pops” Stargell Dialysis Unit with state-of-the-art equipment, scholarships to students in Health & Human Services at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, and individual patient care grants.

Attendees will explore and experience a variety of wines and culinary delights throughout GLOW’s state-of-the-art campus. Entertainment and engaging activities create a vibrant atmosphere as guests mingle and savor flavors. Sponsors enjoy VIP tickets, granting early entry to the Grand Tasting and an exclusive first look at the event. This is a perfect opportunity for food and wine enthusiasts to discover new favorites and connect with fellow connoisseurs.

After the Grand Tasting, guests move inside to experience the Grand Auction, featuring savory wines and exquisite culinary offerings. Attendees can bid on a curated selection of live auction items, each presenting a unique opportunity to take home something special. The lively atmosphere and exceptional flavors make this an unforgettable experience for food and wine lovers alike. Canines for Service is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and the longest-operating, internationally accredited service dog provider in North Carolina. CFS partners highly trained service dogs -at no cost or fundraising obligation- with Veterans with service-connected PTSD, traumatic brain injury, military sexual trauma, and/or mobility limitations.

Our 5th Annual Gala is our biggest event of the year! Enjoy an evening of cocktails, dinner, live music, an exciting auction, and more—all in support of our mission to partner Veterans with life-changing service dogs at no cost.
