Whales and Ales
What’s better than talking whales over cold ales? Join Oceana at Azalea Station for a "no-slides zone" social hour for neighbors who care about the future of our Atlantic waters.
The North Atlantic right whale is currently on the brink of extinction, with approximately 384 individuals remaining. While these whales and this season’s new calves are finishing their winter stay in the southern calving grounds, they will soon begin their northward migration, passing directly through our North Carolina waters.
Grab a drink and connect with fellow ocean-lovers, then stick around for a quick, 15-minute briefing from Oceana’s Field Representative and Marine Scientist. We’ll discuss the critical federal updates impacting the North Atlantic right whale and how we can ensure they have a safe passage through our coast in the months to come.
Come for the networking, stay for the science, and meet the community working to protect our biggest neighbors.
See you at Azalea Station on March 25th at 6:00 pm!
