On Sunday, May 21 at 4:30 pm, the Wilmington Symphonic Winds concludes its 2022–23 season with HEROES. Get ready for an epic afternoon of music as
two of the world's most acclaimed wind band conductors, Eugene Migliaro Corporon and Mallory Thompson, join the WSW for a thrilling concert experience. Heroes inspire and motivate us through their courageous actions and exceptional achievements. They come from all walks of life, whether they are historical figures, cultural icons, or everyday people who have demonstrated remarkable bravery and selflessness in the face of adversity. Heroes represent the very best of humanity and remind us of the incredible potential within each of us to positively impact the world.

HEROES will celebrate the human spirit and honor the hero in all of us. The concert will include works like John Williams’s iconic Summon the Heroes, Eric Whitacre's breathtaking Sleep, and the liberating Mother of a Revolution by Omar Thomas. Other works by Katahj Copley, Jay Kennedy, Erika Svanoe, and Giacomo Puccini will be revealed at our concert – the final installment in our season of Storytellers.

The Wilmington Symphonic Winds, conducted by Dominic Talanca, Associate Professor of Music at UNCW, includes UNCW students, community/professional/retired musicians, and UNCW faculty.

Admission to this family-friendly concert is FREE! We will happily accept donations to support future programming. Tickets may be obtained 1) in advance through the Kenan website using the QR code or 2) on the day of the event at UNCW Kenan Auditorium Box Office, 515 Wagoner Drive in Wilmington, beginning at 3:30 pm.
