Burgwin-Wright Birthday Tea & Talk
Burgwin-Wright Birthday Tea & Talk
The Burgwin-Wright is hosting its annual Birthday Tea and & Talk featuring Cape Fear Spice Merchants owner Gary Coleman! In 1951, the National Society of the Colonial Dames of America in the State of North Carolina opened the Colonial house at Third and Market Streets as a museum, inviting guests and area school groups to experience the history of early Wilmington under the roof of one of its oldest surviving structures. This year’s Birthday Tea & Talk will mark 71 years since the museum’s opening. During the event, which will begin at 1 p.m. in the historic site’s courtyard, guests will be treated to teas and snacks from area vendors while overlooking the gardens. During the tea, Coleman will present “Teas from Around the World,” a delectable exploration of different types of tea from far-flung regions of the world, including a peek into how they are picked, processed, shipped and marketed. Seating is limited. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased in person at the Burgwin-Wright House or by calling 910-762-0570.
