March 2019 Special Programming

In honor of Women's Month, WHQR will be broadcasting several special programs in March. They are:

Sunday, March 10th @ 4pm -- A Change of World -- Meryl Streep narrates an hour-long documentary special about how the Women’s Movement changed poetry, and how women poets changed the culture.

Saturday, March 16th @ 4pm -- Witness: Women's History Month -- The BBC World Service presents remarkable stories of women's history, told by the women who were there. Selected from its Witness program, audiences will hear moving, inspiring and even outrageous stories about a few of the most important women in living memory. They'll hear recollections from Eleanor Roosevelt's granddaughter, meet a woman who ran a secret school for girls in Afghanistan under the Taliban, and retrace the astounding journey taken by the remains of one of Latin America's most popular female politicians.

Sunday, March 17th@ 4pm -- BBC Special: Reporting Women -- Lyse Doucet hosts this hour-long exploration of how young women around the world perceive news coverage – and which stories they think media are missing.
