Communique: "Everything's Coming Up Roses" For Sea Notes Spring Concert | April 1 & 2

Tom Wisniewski & Bob Marks

Sea Notes Choral Society presents "Everything's Coming Up Roses" at Odell Williamson Auditorium. 3:00pm Saturday & Sunday, April 1 & 2. Free

The Sea Notes Choral Society is 43 years old this year. According to Vice President and singer Tom Wisniewski, the group is stronger than ever. There are 150 singers on the rolls and a waiting list to join of about 2 years--except for Tenors. These, Tom says, could be pulled off the street to join. The Sea Notes Spring concert, Everything's Coming Up Roses, is Saturday and Sunday, April 1 & 2, at Odell Williamson Auditorium. Both performances are at 3:00pm and free.

Directors for Sea Notes performances are rotated for each concert. This concert is directed by a relatively new member of Sea Notes, Bob Marks, and this is his directing debut with the group. He moved here from Ohio after retiring from a career as a music educator and director of music for theatrical productions (he is now the Director of Music Ministries at Trinity in Southport). Bob has crafted this concert to be a celebration of Broadway show tunes, including pieces from Les Miserables, The King & I, Gypsy, The Wizard of Oz, Spamalot, and more. Listen above to hear Bob and Tom talk about the concert, including Tom's favorite (and unfavorite) piece and why some pieces are challenging to sing.
