Communique: Gallop For The Gravy 5K + Fun Run Thanksgiving Morning | Run For The Hungry

Gallop for the Gravy
Bobble-head trophies for fastest 3 men & women in all age categories

The Wilmington West Rotary Club is sponsoring its 10th annual Run for the Hungry-Gallop for the Gravy. It's a 5K race on Thanksgiving morning, raising money for Mother Hubbard's Cupboard, Fully Belly Project, and Nourish NC, three organizations dedicated to alleviating hunger. The president of Wilmington West Rotary, Baxter Cheek, and member (and WHQR underwriting representative) Kate Brandis joined us to talk about the race. Listen above.

This is a certified 5K race, but for folks who want to take it easy, there is a "Fun Run" option that is just a mile long. Registration is online, Wednesday evening at the Express Y from 5:00pm-7:00pm (Market & Kerr) or on the morning of the race at the YMCA (2710 Market Street) from 6:30am-7:30am. The route takes runners through Forest Hills, beginning at 8am.

Gallop for the Gravy. 8:00 am Thanksgiving morning (11/24). Awards include bobble-head trophies and homemade pies, plus a raffle and celebration following the race. Certified 5K fun run for all ages.
