Kendra Goehring-Garret stars in Opera House Theatre Company's latest offering, City of Angels. The story, set around 1940, is about a writer named Stine crafting a screenplay. The script of the film comes to life right before the eyes of the audience as Stine types it out-the audience even gets to see edits as they happen. The main character in the film is a detective (think film noir) named Stone, who is basically a better version of Stine himself. The other characters he writes into the script are fantasized versions of people in his life, including his wife Gabby, played by Kendra. This is basically 2 plays in one: the real and the reel. Listen above for more details-and don't be surprised to hear some extra input from Kendra's new baby, Mia.
This show only runs for 2 weeks on Thalian Hall's Mainstage: Wednesday, August 31-Sunday, September 11. Showtimes are 8:00 for all performances, except Sundays at 3:00.
