This Saturday, 7/23, a big festival is happening just over the bridge from Wilmington, just around the corner from Leland, at Brunswick Riverwalk Parkin Belville. It's called SummerFest by Healthy Living NC. Two organizers, Martin Case and Jessica Korona joined us in the studio. The event offers live music, food, entertainment for all ages, and under Martin's watch, a commitment to promoting healthy eating and activities. Money raised at SummerFest supports the Meals on Wheels program.
Attending the festival is free, but there are great ways to spend some money, including sampling entries in the Shrimp and Slaw Throwdown Chef Competition; here's Jessica Korona with more:
