Communique: Nick Gray Wants Your Feedback On "The Dying Words Of Edison Strange"

Title art for "The Dying Words of Edison Strange"

Edison Strange is a reluctant spirit channeler whose spectral talent brings him to a breaking point. You've never heard of Edison? That's because he's a brand new character in a brand new play.

Any given weekend, most stages in Wilmington are likely to host plays we've heard about-likely that we know and love. But major theaters across the country are staging new works throughout their seasons (sometimes an oldie dressed up in new clothes). In the Port City, there has been a steady rise in readings and productions of new works. Case in point: Nick Gray, playwright and Artistic Director of City Stage Co., decided to use the month of June to host new play readings. Hence The Reading Room at City Stage.

The final script reading in The Reading Room series is this Thursday, June 30 at City Stage, and Gray's work is in the spotlight: The Dying Words of Edison Strange. Gray joined us in the studio to talk about new plays and give us a sneak peek into Edison Strange; listen above.

"The Dying Words of Edison Strange." Thursday, June 30 @ 7:30pm. City Stage Level 5, 21 N. Front Street

Nick Gray, author of "The Dying Words of Edison Strange" and Artistic Director of City Stage Co.

The reading is mostly free...Gray kindly asks for audience feedback about the script at the end. Tickets are not required. This reading is directed by MirlaChriste, while Kevin Black, Rachel Moser, Isabel Zermani, Mathis Turner, Zach Hanner, Penny Kohut, and Amy Carter are performing.
