CAPE FEAR MEMORIAL BRIDGE: Updates, resources, and context

Bottega Live - January 2020

Vince Winkel

Launch into 2020 with more music from Wilmington and a bit beyond. January’s Bottega Live kicks off with the music of Brandon Hardesty, singer and guitarist with the Bumpin Uglies. Then it’s Wilmington based singer - songwriter Kristie Lynn. Also on the show, local hip host artist Ken X. WHQR's Bottega Live airs each month in conjunction with Wilmington’s Fourth Friday Gallery Walk.

Brandon Hardesty and the Bumpin Uglies spawned from an Annapolis, MD scene awash in musical history over a decade ago. They are rooted in East Coast ska, punk, and reggae, making their mark up and down the Eastern Seaboard. In the past ten years, Bumpin Uglies have worked to carve out their path by relentlessly touring, and releasing one album after another. With each release came more focus, more

creativity and more desire to always experiment and try new things with their music. The band is psyched for their latest EP, which released via Ineffable Music Group based in Oakland, CA. Ineffable is a name synonymous with the likes of Collie Buddz, Stick Figure, The Movement, and many other prominent artists. Brandon dropped into Bottega to play a three-song set while the band was on tour in the Cape Fear Region.
