The Carolina African American Writers’ Collective 25 came into being 25 years ago.  The publication of the anthology All The Songs We Singcelebrates this anniversary. 

Jaki Shelton Green, North Carolina poet laureate, introduces the collection with this:  “All The Songs We Sing draws us near while pushing us away.  This raw, terrifying, necessary, and beautiful book is a rich orchestration of memoir, essays, fiction, poetry, and creative nonfiction that bears witness to the hushed songbirds of captivity belonging to a collective past whose future generations sing proud and out loud.”
