Well into its second decade, WHQR's SOUP TO NUTS LIVE! has become one of the Cape Fear region's favorite, live-listening experiences, featuring a wide array of musical genres on its stage. The M.C. Erny Gallery has hosted Bluegrass, Rockabilly, Celtic, Country, Blues, Latin, Jazz, Folk, Indie, Pop, and Americana performances. And along the way, we've welcomed talented, hard-working musicians from all walks of life. Our Gallery is an acoustic room that demands attention. Adapting your 'unplugged' performance to our space may require some patience, but the reward is a truly intimate, interactive experience for both artist and listener. STNL!'s recording process reflects its commitment to high quality, ongoing success, and the hard work of its technical staff. Each performance is engineered, multitracked, and edited into a one-hour program for broadcast on an upcoming date. In addition, we forward and cross-promote the live event (and the later broadcast) across our website, on-air, social media, and related platforms. If you would like to be considered for a future STNL! session in front of a live audience at WHQR, we'd like to hear from you. Send an email of interest to stnl@whqr.org and include links to your music, biography, website, videos, social media, club & tour dates, etc. We look forward to making contact with you soon. Soup to Nuts Live! Presents: The Midatlantic

***SOLD OUT***

Soup to Nuts Live! welcomes The Midatlantic to WHQR's MC Erny Gallery on Thursday, May 19th.

The Midatlantic is a group of eclectic musicians hailing from the Cape Fear coast of North Carolina. Setting sail with a crew of five, The Midatlantic is an exciting and refreshing brand of folk rock that excites audiences, leaving them wanting more. With a unique blend of progressive folk, Americana, bluegrass, and a hint of rock and jazz, The Midatlantic produces their brand of music. Don't be fooled by the montage of acoustic instruments. They always deliver a wide range of melodic harmonies through songs that are sincere to love, emotion, and life experiences.

2015 was an ambitious first year for The Midatlantic. A few highlights included opening for nationally recognized bands such as The Steep Canyon Rangers, playing for Blue Moon Brewing’s 20th Anniversary party, and receiving runner-up at Floydfest’s On-The-Rise competition earning multiple standing ovations, hundreds of new fans, and an invitation to go back next year. Their local following in the Wilmington and Raleigh, NC areas over their short time together has also been overwhelmingly supportive. Major events such as The 2014 Lighthouse Beer Fest, Wilmington Brewing Company’s Grand Opening, Encore Magazine’s Best Of Party, Quintiles Marathon, and countless other festivals and private events have all welcomed The Midatlantic with open arms and cheering crowds. The Midatlantic is set to release their first full length album “Sound Over Water” on November 20th, 2015 and continue their ambitious push to spread their sounds across every mountain and every ocean.
