Coastal Horizons Center, the non-profit treatment center on the front lines in the opioid addiction battle, had its Annual Meeting Wednesday. The Wilmington-based facility is growing well beyond the Cape Fear region.
Hundreds of Coastal Horizon staff, along with elected city, county and state officials packed the Wilmington Convention Center to celebrate the 49th year of Coastal Horizons.
“It all started right here in New Hanover County.”
Margaret Weller-Stargell is President and CEO.
“So we're now in 57 counties. We have over 500 full time employees and just learned yesterday that we are going to expand our operations in Onslow County in the school system there. And so yes, lots of great things happening for Coastal, but more importantly for the clients that we serve.”
Also at the meeting, Andy Jones was handed the gavel as the new Chair of the Center’s Board of Trustees.
The Center provides substance abuse, mental health and integrated care services, as well as crisis intervention.
