Call for Applications for Friends of Public Radio Board of Directors, 2018
Are you interested in serving on the Friends of Public Radio Board? WHQR and the Friends of Public Radio are soliciting interested parties to apply for a limited number of positions on our Board of Directors.
We are seeking a diverse population from our listenership who are interested in engaging with the community in meaningful ways, will attend regular monthly meetings, will participate in committee responsibilities and will assist with fundraising.
We welcome individuals who can draw upon their professional expertise and prior community service and those who believe that a public radio engenders a well-informed community by reflecting the values of civil discourse and artistic endeavor. If you fit the bill, please submit the following: a one page cover letter in which you outline why you are interested in becoming a board member and describe the specific strengths, skills, and insights you would bring to the board; and a brief resume (no more than two pages) that highlights your work/community service experience (including prior board experience) directly related to the points addressed in your cover letter. Applicants must be a WHQR member in good standing (having made a financial contribution to WHQR within the past 12 months) to be considered for board service. New members may join prior to the application deadline for board consideration.
