About the Author: Karen E. Bender grew up in Los Angeles, but has spent time living in such diverse places as New York, Iowa City and Taichung City, Taiwan. Bender currently lives in our very own Wilmington with her husband Robert Anthony Seigel and their two children. In addition to writing highly acclaimed books, Bender enjoys cooking, running and playing the cello.  Bender is the author of the novel Like Normal People, which was a Washington Post Best Book of the Year, a Los Angeles Times Bestseller,  and a Barnes And Noble Discover Great New Writers selection. Bender has won TWO Pushcart Prizes and has been a recipient of grants from the National Endowment of the Arts and the Rona Jaffe Foundation. For more information about Karen E.
