Oh. Canada: A Tap Takeover From Our Northern Neighbors - Fermental
Join the fine folks at Fermental as we celebrate the carbonated creations of Canada.
FRIDAY MARCH 14TH. 11AM-11PM.
It's a CANADIAN Tap Takeover: dedicating a day to our uppermost neighbors with a featured selection of ales, lagers, and a bit of wine from the great white north.
Brewing in Canada has a long and rich history, with the first commercial brewery founded in 1688 in Québec City.
As centuries passed and production grew, the Second World War hit brewers hard and forced a period of industry consolidation. Regional brewers across the country merged or were acquired by other brewers, resulting in larger companies and a more globally competitive industry.
Beginning in the 1980s new regional breweries emerged in communities across the country, increasing the range of brands and styles of beer available.
Today, Canadian beer is made in every province and territory of the country generating massive economic, social, and other benefits to communities large and small.
Currently home to over 1,300 breweries, Canada produces a wide range of beers that reflect the country’s cultural and regional diversity.
