International Film Series: Carving the Divine
UNCW International Faculty and Staff Association (IFSA)'s International Film Series presents the 2019 documentary film "Carving the Divine." The film offers a rare look into the 1400-year-old tradition of Buddhist woodcarving and the practitioners struggling to preserve its legacy in a rapidly changing Japan. Shown at 13 festivals worldwide, it was the winner of numerous awards and accolades including Best Director at World Cinema Milan. The screening will be followed by a Q/A.
