The Shadow We Create Abby Spangel Perry is an artist and educator living in Wilmington, NC. The subjects of her mixed media painting and drawing explorations are informed by her biological surroundings. Her focus often centers on our societal ambivalence toward nature. By drawing on image styles found in science and popular culture she is able to connect them to the misuse of nature as a commodity and bring attention to the effects we are having on the smallest components of our ecosystems.
