Diaper Drive Benefiting the Diaper Bank of North Carolina at Burgwin-Wright House

Diaper Drive Benefiting the Diaper Bank of North Carolina at Burgwin-Wright House

In honor of the Museum’s 73rd birthday Month, the Burgwin-Wright House is accepting donations on behalf of the Lower Cape Fear branch of the Diaper Bank of NC from March 1-31.

When donating, you will be entered in a raffle of goodies from Trader Joes!

About Donating to the Drive:
Drop-off in our visitor center Monday-Saturday between 10am-4pm. We are located at the corner of 3rd and Market Street. (224 Market Street)

NC Diaper Bank accepts both new and opened packs of diapers for donations. All sizes of diapers, baby wipes, and diaper cream. However, the current, most pressing needs are as follows, and unless otherwise noted, new and opened packages are accepted.

#1 biggest need is baby wipes.

Close second is pullups in all sizes: 2t/3t, 3t/4t, and 4t/5t.

Other high need items:
• Newborn diapers
• Size 4, 5, and 7 diapers
• women's underwear, all sizes
• pantyliners (individually wrapped)
• adult pull-on style disposable underwear (i.e., Depends) sizes M, L, XL, and XXL
*At this time tab or diaper style adult products are not accepted

The Need:
Most of us don’t spend a lot of time thinking about diapers. But if you are a parent without enough of them, they can become a major source of stress, guilt, and desperation.
Imagine …
* having to choose between buying diapers and putting food on the table
* needing to leave your baby in the same diaper for the entire day – or longer
* trying to clean a soiled disposable diaper so it can be reused
* listening to your baby cry for a prolonged period because you can’t change a diaper
* dealing with your baby’s severe diaper rash, urinary tract infections, and skin infections
* missing work or school because you can’t afford the full day’s supply of diapers your daycare requires

There’s good news!
When parents have reliable access to adequate diapers, the benefits to family stability, health and emotional state are significant. The Diaper Bank of NC- Lower Cape Fear works to meet this need by providing diapers to community partners for distribution to families in need in our community. And this is all possible due to your support. We thank you for your donation.
