Deep Dive Into History: Dyeing for History
Deep Dive Into History: Dyeing for History
History is most definitely not a black and white subject! From costly indigo from the tropics to humble madder roots from the Mediterranean, explore the dyestuffs that helped fuel global economies and bring color to our lives. Join a historic interpreter and try your hand at dyeing with the same products that they used 250 years ago!
This event is part of the North Carolina Maritime Museum at Southport's Deep Dive Into History series, programs designed to give visitors a deeper understanding of our shared past through costumed interpretation.
Each Deep Dive delves into a specific theme in Lower Cape Fear and maritime history. These free programs run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and visitors can interact one-on-one with the presenter at any time during the program.
