Colonial History Walking Tour June 26
Wilmington was chartered by the colonial legislature in 1739 and quickly became a commercial and cultural center of colonial North Carolina. Join the Lower Cape Fear Historical Society, Inc. on a journey that will explore the growth of Wilmington and its role in the Revolutionary War, including topics such as the 1766 Stamp Act Protest, the 1776 Battle of Moore’s Creek, and the 1781 British occupation of Wilmington. The tour passes each of the three 18th century homes in Wilmington: the Mitchell-Anderson House, Burgwin-Wright House, and Dubois-Boatwright House. The tour begins and concludes at the Latimer House. Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the start of the tour.
