A two day workshop to learn the art of collagraph printmaking using plates created by collage. Session 1: Making a collage plate Session 2: Printing a collagraph plate In this workshop students will create printing plates by gluing elements onto the printing surface to create an image. Students are asked to gather collage supplies ahead of time and bring them to the first class session. Collage items should not be more than 1/8" thick and can include scraps of paper; textured items such as sandpaper, fabric, burlap or lace; string or twine, dried leaves or seeds, etc. Students will create their plates during the first session and print them during the second session.
