Since 2011, City Ballet's "The Nutcracker" has become an annual holiday treat for the Wilmington community and surrounding areas. Based on the original tale by ETA Hoffmann, "The Nutcracker" features all your favorite ballet traditions like the Sugar Plum Fairy, the mysterious Drosselmeyer, and Marie and her Nutcracker Prince, woven together with great storytelling, gorgeous costumes, a live professional orchestra, and the wonderful dancers that have made City Ballet the regions premier ballet company.
