Cape Fear Community College International Film Festival

Cape Fear Community College International Film Festival

All films will be shown in U-170. The two-week festival will feature nine films: six French films, two Spanish films, and, new this year, one film in American Sign Language (ASL). The festival will kick off with the award-winning French animated film Flow. This opening screening, along with select others, will include an assortment of French snacks for attendees.

The festival will conclude with The Taste of Things, a sumptuous film that beautifully blends historical romance and culinary artistry. The screening will be introduced by Chef Philip Jones, instructor in CFCC’s Baking and Pastry Arts program.

We aim to highlight the cross-disciplinary opportunities a film festival provides. In addition to language instructors, we look forward to welcoming faculty and students from art, history, culinary arts, graphic design, communications, literature, anthropology, and other disciplines. We are especially proud to be one of the only community colleges in the country to receive a grant from the Albertine Cinematheque Foundation. This funding, along with a generous grant from the CFCC Foundation, enables us to present this special event each year.
