“1776 The Musical”

“1776 The Musical”

WILMINGTON, NC — Thalian Association Community Theatre (TACT), along with Thalian Hall
Center for Performing Arts, proudly present the Tony Award-winning “1776 The Musical”.
Opening night will take place at the historic Thalian Hall Main Stage on Friday, March 13 at 7:30
p.m. and run through Sunday, March 15. An Opening night Pre-show reception will be held at
6:00 P.M. on March 13 in the Grand Ballroom.
The Musical will portray a powerful celebration of history, artistry, and collaboration. This show
will be a tribute to the nation’s celebration of the 250 th Anniversary of signing the Declaration of
Independence. 1776 brings to life the drama, wit, and humanity of the Second Continental
Congress as they wrestle with the monumental decision to declare independence from Great
Britain. The show’s themes of courage, conflict, and compromise remain strikingly relevant
today.
“This is more than a Musical”, said Susan Habas, Executive Director of Thalian Association. “It
is a tribute to the ideals, struggles, and contradictions at the heart of our nation’s founding.” She
goes on saying, “As we approach the 250 th milestone of America, 1776 invites us to reflect on
where we’ve come from and where we are headed.”
