Harp Duo Lilac 94 to Perform Live on HQR's Midday Interview With Gina Gambony
On Tuesday, May 24, the harp duo Lilac 94 will join us in the MC Erny Gallery at WHQR for a special Midday Interview with Gina Gambony that includes a mini-concert. The live interview with the harpists begins at 11:58 and runs through 12:06 on Classical HQR 92.7 and HQR News 91.7; the music will continue until approximately 12:20 on Classical HQR.
Lilac 94 is a harp duo dedicated to performing new and creative music. Harpists Christina Brier and Kate Sloat have played their music in all kinds of venues, from schools and retirement homes to Eastman School of Music’s Hatch Hall and the Milwaukee Art Museum. Christina and Kate began playing together in their first semester as masters students at the Eastman School of Music, and formed Lilac 94 just before their graduation in 2013. They chose their name to reflect their origins in Rochester, New York – the lilac is the flower of the city, and they have a total of 94 strings between their two harps.
Lilac 94 is performing at St. Paul's Episcopal Church on Friday, May 27th at 7:30.
