The Wilmington branch of the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina serves 4 counties-Brunswick, Columbus, New Hanover, and Pender. There are about 75,000 people living in food insecurity across these counties. Simply put, that's 75,000 people of all ages (approximately 1/3 children) who may go to bed hungry any given night.

The Food Bank is recharging its stock for the fall with the help of local chefs and superstar chef, A Chef's Life's Vivian Howard (along with her new book, Deep Run Roots). On Wednesday, October 19th, the casual gala Chef's Feast at the River is on the Cape Fear waterfront. Two of the chefs providing food for the feast are Dean Neff from PinPoint Restaurant and Keith Rhodes from Catch Restaurant. They joined us in the studio; listen to our interview below.
