David Key has been a musician for most of his life. His first instrument was the saxophone and he earned his degree in music education. David began his long journey with flutes about 20 years ago; he was attracted first to flutes for Irish tunes, then to Native American flutes, and finally to flutes from all the cultures of the world. He's now a sound therapist and sound artist, using sound and melody to promote healing in humans-and turtles.
He's collected nearly 3 dozen flutes to use for this work, and he also uses frame drums.
David works with turtles at the Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Rescue and Rehabilitation Center. His CD, Turtle Journey, is based on his work there.
David Key shares "Turtle Journey" sound and story. Saturday, July 9, 4:30 pm @ Hampstead Library.
Listen to David talk about his work above. He is sharing music and turtle stories with youth and adults (ages 9+ recommended) at the Hampstead Library this Saturday, July 9. The program begins at 4:30 pm.
