The Cape Fear Literacy Council hosts its 7th Annual Literacy Luncheon this Thursday. This is one of the critical fundraisers for the local non-profit that teaches skills in reading, writing, mathematics, and technology for adult learners. The Executive Director of the Literacy Council, YasminTomkinson, reminds us of the work the organization does in this interview-listen above.

For the Luncheon, Live Oak Bank is matching all funds raised up to $25,000.  The special guests are author Tom Morris and New Hanover County Commissioner Jonathon Barfield. Students will share work, including Readers' Theatre. The Luncheon runs 11:30 am-1:00 pm on Thursday, June 2 at Pine Valley United Methodist Church. Reserve your seat here.
