It sounds like the beginning of a joke, and perhaps it is: A Zombie, a Vampire, and a Werewolf Walk Into a Bar... is a new play written by local author & playwright CalieVoorhis. The show is playing Friday and Saturday nights through October 31st at Theatre Now, a dinner theater production with "Witch's Fingers" for appetizers and entree choices like "Dem Bones" (BBQ Ribs) and "Blood and Guts" (ironically, a vegetarian pasta dish). Dinner and the show begin at 7:00.
Artists from the production joining us in the studio include Calie Voorhis, the playwright; Beth Swindell, the director; and Cole Marquis, the songwriter (you can hear a brief sample of the music in the interview).
"A Zombie, a Vampire, and a Werewolf Walk Into a Bar..." by Calie Voorhis. 7:00pm Friday & Saturday nights through Halloween at Theatre Now on 10th & Dock.
The show is not "horrific," according to Voorhis; instead, she approaches horror by creating a sense of unease for the audience. Still, it's full of comedy and some fun for the audience, including a trivia game. It's not for young audiences.
