Big Dawg Productionshas 2 productions staged simultaneously-The Hermit of Fort Fisher is at the Greenfield Lake Amphitheatre through August 2, while "The Miss Firecracker Contest" is on the stage of the Cape Fear Playhouse.

Director Anne Berkeley is an associate professor in UNCW's Theatre Department. She recently decided to branch out and direct plays for the community. Her first venture is The Miss Firecracker Contest by a playwright she admires, Beth Henley.

The Miss Firecracker Contest runs July 30 through August 16. Showtimes are Thursday-Saturday evenings at 8:00 + Sunday 3:00 matinees. All Thursday performances have ticket discounts. Find out more about tickets here.
