CAPE FEAR MEMORIAL BRIDGE: Updates, resources, and context

Midday Interview on Journey4Josh

Alexa Doran
Patty and Jemila

Patty Proutey's 19-year-old son Joshua was killed in 2012 as he left the Community Arts Center downtown late last night. She has created a non-profit to honor his memory which will provide funding for life-affirming activities for at-risk youth in the hope that "good ultimately can come form Joshua's death." The launch of the non-profit, called Journey4Josh, is this Friday from 6-9 PM at Cape Fear Community College's beautiful new Union Station. Patty will speak, as will District Attorney Ben David. Techmoja Dance and Theatre Company (the members of which all knew and loved Josh) will perform. Middle of the Island Catering will provide heavy hors d'oeuvres and Wilmington Wine Company will provide beer wine and soft drinks. Tickets are $50 and can be obtained by calling Elaine Anlyan at 910.264.7793 or by emailing her at eanlyan@gmail.com. For more information please visit their website Journey4josh.org or got to Journey4Josh on facebook.
