Bottega Live - Interview With East Bay Ray of Dead Kennedys & The Killer Smiles
The June Edition of WHQR’s Bottega Live is a special one. Addie interviews East Bay Ray - musician, songwriter, co-founder, producer of Dead Kennedys and musician at The Killer Smiles. Addie and Ray discuss songwriting, playing dive bars in Oakland, and everything in-between. Also we have encore performances from Madd Hatters and Medicated Sunfish!
East Bay Ray is a guitarist best known for his membership in the San Francisco Bay area-based punk
band Dead Kennedys. His guitar work was heavily influenced by surf music, jazz and rockabilly. East Bay Ray's playing was one of the defining factors of the music of the Dead Kennedys, and by extension, of the "second wave" of American punk. He is also the only Dead Kennedy to remain a constant member of the band since its formation.
He’s also a member of The Killer Smiles!
The Madd Hatters are widely known for their high-energy, blistering, raucus, fast-paced shows. Established in 1998 as a Halloween and New Years Eve party band with jazzy, ska core, punk, and reggae eclectic tunes.
