STNL!: "Kyle Lindley" Performs August 22nd

The next edition of WHQR's Soup To Nuts Live! will feature Kyle Lindley on Thursday, August 22nd at 7:30 pm (doors open 6:30 pm) in the MC Erny Gallery at 254 N. Front St. in downtown Wilmington. Price: $10 suggested donation at the door. Reserve a seat by sending an email to soup@whqr.org or call 910-343-1640 during regular business hours.

A native of the Wilmington NC area, Kyle Lindley began performing and writing music at the age of 14. He started playing professionally while attending the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, playing local clubs and bars in and around the city. After obtaining his Bachelor’s of Science degree in Computer Engineering, he moved back to his hometown to pursue his musical interests. Starting with Bob Dylan, his fascination in Folk music grew immensely, affecting his writing. Brought up on legends such as Van Morrison, Neil Young, Woody Guthrie, and Jerry Jeff Walker, Kyle began a journey of traditional interest in roots music. Now he is writing well crafted and critically acclaimed songs of contemporary and Old Time reference. Kyle feels strongly that good writing depends upon how relatable it's content is. His songs have been described as varying from Blues & Folk to Country. Some dark, while others are optimistic and upbeat. Many songs fringe on Americana. In his words, “A song must be generic enough to relate to everyone and at the same time specific enough to relate to anyone individually.” You can count on hearing many tunes from Kyle's latest studio release, 'IN SEARCH OF AGING GRACE', at his August 22nd STNL show at WHQR.
